Training of Women Leaders on Gender and Participatory Budgeting
In the framework of the project “The Word to Women”, the Associative Action organized training sessions for the Women Leaders (WL) of the project, in the partner municipalities of Kairouan, Mahdia et Tabarka, in Female Leadership and Participatory Budgeting.
The main goal of these trainings provided by the project team between September and November 2018, is to well prepare the WL in the 3 municipalities for their responsibilities in the campaigns of awareness and communication of the Participatory Budgeting, as well as to acquire the necessary skills to encourage women participation in the citizen forums of the participatory process.
Capacity building of the municipal councils of Tabarka, Kairouan and Mahdia
In the framework of the project “The Word To Women”, the Associative Action organized several training sessions for the members of the municipal councils of the partner municipalities in different thematic areas.
The training were organized between September and November 2018, and were provided by the following experts :

The training sessions contributed to well prepare the members of the municipal councils, specifically the presidents of Participatory Democracy commissions, to the implementation of the Participatory Budgeting process, with a specific focus on women participation.
Signature of the Participatory Democracy Charter in Gabès
In September 2018, the associative Action organized a training session related to the processes of the participatory democracy, to all the municipalities of the district of Gabès, in partnership with the local NGO “Organisation Volonté et Citoyenneté”.
By the end the training, 15 municipalities signed the Participatory Democracy Charter, that engages the new elected municipal councils to implement effective participatory processes including the citizens and the local CSOs, and which ensure transparency and accountability.

Capacity Building of the Women Leaders : Tabarka, Kairouan and Mahdia
In the framework of the project “Word to Women”, the Associative Action selected between 20 and 30 ‘Woman Leader (WL)’ in each of the partner cities of Tabarka, Kairouan and Mahdia.
The WL attended sessions of trainings and capacities’ building in the thematic of Personal Development, Gender and Communication, between April and July 2018. The trainings were provided by the following experts :
- Kouraich Jaouahdou : Expert in Communication and Participatory Democracy
- Olfa Khalil Arem : Expert in Personal Development
- Monia Gastli : Expert in Gender
The main goal of the trainings was to prepare the WL to support their municipalities and collaborate with them in order to implement a Gender Based Participatory Budgeting process.
