The project “Word To Women” aims to strengthen women participation in public life and local governance by implementing Gender Based Participatory Budgeting and other participatory tools.

The objectives of the project are the following :

• General objective : to contribute to the increasing of women participation in local governance in the municipality of Tabarka, Kairouan and Mahdia
• Specific objectives : to strengthen the participation and leadership of women of the municipalities of Tabarka, Kaiouran and Mahdia, in the process of the Gender Based Participatory Budgeting

In order to achieve the above-mentioned objectives, the project is has been organized around 3 main results to reach :

1. To strengthen the support of men and women of the municipalities of Tabarka, Kairouan and Mahdia to women participation in local governance
2. To empower the municipalities and local NGOs of the municipalities of Tabarka, Kairouan and Mahdia to implement local participatory processes
3. To empower the capacities of local women of the municipalities of Tabarka, Kairouan and Mahdia to propose and decide local citizen projects, as well as monitor and evaluate the execution of the projects by the municipality, in the context of the Gender Based Participatory Budgeting process.
