Renewal of the Participatory Budgeting in la Marsa
In February 2015, the municipality of la Marsa decided to renew the implementation of the Participatory Budgeting process which started in 2014. For the second year, the municipality of la Marsa decided to re-open the budgetary line related to the public lightening to the citizen participation, as well as to add a new budgetary line related to roads.

Travel d’Or prize for Astisans d’Art
In Mai 2017, the Associative Action was awarded the “Travel d’Or” for its mobile application “Artisans d’Art” developped in partnership with Orange Telecom. This application is designed for Tunisians craftsmen and producers of local alimentary products in Tunisia to better their access to the market.

African prize for the Participatory Budgeting in Tunisia
In December 2015, the municipality of la Marsa have been awarded an African prize related to the implementation of the Participatory Budgeting process in Tunisia. This conference named “Africities” was organized in Johannesburg, the capital of South Africa. The municipality of la Marsa participated in this conference by presenting its experience in the implementation of the Participatory Budgeting as a participatory mechanism to integrate citizens within the decision making process, related to infrastructure projects.
The Associative Action provided full technical assistance to the municipality of la Marsa in its implementation of the Participatory Budgeting in 2014, for the municipal budget of 2015.

Capacity Building seminar for municiplalities_ 2014
The Associative Action organized on the 22nd – 23rd of January 2015, a capacity building seminar for the 4 pioneer municipalities which adopted the Participatory Budgeting process (La Marsa, Menzel Bourguiba, Tozeur, Gabes). The goal of the seminar was to empower the 4 municipalities to be able to re-implement the Participatory Budgeting process in 2015.
